Just another day in paradise, sorry Paris... yesterday we
tried to explain Paris , today we’ll try to explain St Chapelle and The Louvre.
First stop was Sainte Chapelle. Sainte
Chapelle is renowned for its beautiful stained glass roof. On Wednesday night Colene and Michael are
going to hear Vivaldi’s Four Seasons at the Catherdral .
The Louvre, as the pictures suggest, is massive. Federation
Square would fit inside the courtyards of the Louvre at least twice and that’s
only the entrance courtyard. The main courtyard with the glass Pyramid would just
about house at least 3-4 MCG’s .
Main attraction ... the Mona Lisa. The painting is in a
large room and it doesn’t take long to get close. There are many other paintings that are far
more imposing .
We are within walking distance (15 minutes to the Louvre)
which is great because Kyan was tired today so was taken home while Michael
stayed on and explored the rest of the Louvre. Andrew ended up minding Kyan while Colene and
Karina explored the local area. Zara is across the road and is definitely
over-rated. The shop was chockers and it
took about 15 minutes to get to the change rooms and another 15 to get through
the checkout.
Every time we leave our unit, right outside is the best
bakery around. The bread in this shop is to die for. We have yet to try the
sweet things but stay tuned for our report.
Lots of shops and lots
of people out and about enjoying the sunshine.
Just another alley.....
The Bakery to die for...

A busy Saturday afternoon.

You'll find more photos being posted, they do say every picture is worth 1000 words, saves us typing.
