Yesterday was Easter Sunday and despite the wet weather there
were lots of people around and some desperate tourists braved the water for a
swim. The sand on the beaches here is
like pebbles but the water is crystal clear and a beautiful aqua colour.
We had a very lazy day, sat at the bar on the beach for a
while this afternoon and took the bus to the top of the town to a small local
restaurant which is owned by a local family which they have been operating for
the last 40 years. There are one of the few
families here witch don’t go to Thailand for the winter months. Apparently the town totally shuts down for 2
months of the year in their winter.
The food was typical home cooked Italian food
and the best we have had so far.
Tomorrow we will be picked up by our driver and taken to
Naples where we will catch a train to Rome.
It will be Easter Monday and we have been told that most Italians head
to the country for a picnic. Hope the
rain stops.
Monday ....
We have woken to a cloudy but clearing morning. We get in to
Rome at 3pm.
Ciao
The water is so clear, clean and aqua in color.
The local beach painter. Of course we bought a painting( rolled up), boy are we having fun getting everything into our suitcases.
We climb 39 steps to get to our room. Steps, inclines everywhere, we always wonder how the older folk manage.
